Musarat Association Rehabilitates Southern Irrigation Canal in Mahambal Through Cash-for-Work Employing 50 Workers

As part of the project “FSL initiatives for Wheat Farmers and Livestock Herders via Irrigation Rehabilitation and Agricultural Assistance in NW Syria – Envelope-1”, funded by the Syria Cross-Border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF), The Establishment for Human Care and Development – MASRRAT continues its efforts to complete the rehabilitation of irrigation canals in Mahambal Subdistrict through the engagement of 50 workers from the villages of Holoul and Al-Kaniseh under a Cash-for-Work activity. 

The activity involves employing the workers for 50 working days, at a rate of 6 hours per day, to carry out cleaning and rehabilitation works on the southern irrigation canal. This intervention contributes to improving the efficiency of the irrigation network and restoring its readiness to serve agricultural lands and beneficiary farmers. The activity also aims to provide temporary employment opportunities for unemployed individuals who meet the project’s approved selection criteria. 

The Establishment for Human Care and Development – MASRRAT continues to implement development interventions aimed at rehabilitating irrigation infrastructure and improving agricultural services, thereby supporting the sustainable management of water resources, enhancing agricultural productivity, and contributing to improved livelihoods for local communities across the region.
