As part of the “FSL initiatives for Wheat Farmers and Livestock Herders via Irrigation Rehabilitation and Agricultural Assistance in NW Syria – Envelope-1” project, funded by the Syria Cross-border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF), The Establishment for Human Care and Development – MASRRAT continues the rehabilitation of irrigation canals in Mahambal Sub-district, aiming to improve irrigation infrastructure and strengthen food security and livelihoods for targeted communities.
The electrical and mechanical rehabilitation of the drainage pumping station has now been successfully completed, and the station is fully ready to pump water into the irrigation canal network. The restoration and operation of the station marks a significant milestone in reviving agricultural lands, as it will ensure reliable irrigation water for farmers, support sustainable agricultural practices, and enhance agricultural productivity, ultimately contributing to improved food security and more resilient livelihoods across the region.
