As part of the project titled “Reactivating Local Capacities in Potato Farming and Seed Multiplication” the installation of net houses on the fields of the members of the Potato Seed Multiplication Association (PSMA) in Bennsh has begun. This step follows verification by the civil defense (White Helmets) team to ensure the fields are free from explosive remnants of war (ERW) and unexploded ordnance (UXO).
The installation sites were pre-selected according to a well-studied plan. During the first year, 44 net houses will be installed, supervised by 11 farmers from the association.
The net house structure is made of galvanized steel with dimensions of 8×50×3.5 meters. The project work includes the following phases:
– Installing the metal structure.
– Conducting agricultural operations inside the net houses, such as plowing, fertilizing, and planting potato seeds.
– Installing doors and covering the net houses with the net layer.
Through this project, we aim to support local production and enhance farmers’ capacities in potato seed multiplication and potato production.
